Reservoire wood, because of the preservation under water, is known to be extremely durable, and offers assurance of superior quality of the wood. When artificial reservoirs and dams are built, large areas of forest are often inundated; although the trees die, the wood is preserved. For wood to decay it needs exposure to water (moisture) and oxygen. If one of these is absent then it doesn't decay .e.g. in the case of underwater wood there is little to no oxygen so it stays preserved. Delivering this high quality of water preserved wood takes a special harvesting technique, because the tree trunk must be felled/crosscut underwater and submerged from the lake. After the logs are transported to the sawmill through the water, the unique, exotic wood is sawn in the factory which runs for up to three shifts a day and is stored, ready for export. The production is managed with the flexibility and drive to accommodate the demands and desires of our customers.
