Plantation Resort Frederiksdorp is the center of North Commewijne Island situated between Braamspunt and the Matapicacreek and the Atlantic ocean in the North and Commewijne river in the south, its a diversified nature area, with Asian ethnic villages and lots of historic heritage. FD is a former 18th century coffee and cocoa plantation located on the right bank of the Commewijne River, not far from the city of Paramaribo. The history of Frederiksdorp recalls both European and African traditions. It has its own character with surrounding plantations, fishing villages, sea beaches, mangrove forests, wetland eco systems, dolphins and long cycling and hiking trails. This former plantation with original plantation homes and a police station, has been declared a heritage site and transformed into an attractive resort. The comfortably furnished apartments are all equipped with air conditioning, wifi and hot water. There is a pool with a beautiful pool deck and a large river terrace. On the estate there are several fruit trees: oranges, mangoes, papayas and coconut trees: you can pluck your own breakfast! Good food is a memorable part of your holiday.
